Dessert Contest

Our community of married housing here at BYUH had a dessert contest. Mom had the idea to make "Better than anything cake" so we did. But while we were at it I noticed that we had some oreos and chocolate pudding, so I made two pies. After those three were done we had stuff for strawberry shortcake, so....that had to be made too. After all that work we ended up taking 1st place for the "better than anything cake."

Visit from Granny Jen and Grandpa Mike

Grandma and Grandpa for a visit to see their first grand baby, Anniston! Grandma got into Hawaii a few days before Grandpa and spent a night in the hospital with us. Of course Grandma got all teary eyed when she first saw Anniston. (would you expect anything else from her?)

Grandma and Grandpa bought Anniston her blessing dress. Since they won't be here when we bless her we thought they needed a couple pictures with Anniston in her beautiful long white dress. Anniston will be blessed on June 8th, 9:00 am Hawaii time for anyone who would like to come ;-)

Of course you didn't think that Grandma and Grandpa came to Hawaii just to see Anniston. They spent some time in the water having a good time boogie boarding and snorkeling.

We also went to climb Chinaman's hat. You wade about 200 yards through the ocean to walk out to a little island. We then climbed to the top where you get a pretty cool view. Stacey and Anniston hung out on the beach for a bit while the three o us went to the top of Chinaman's. (the top right picture Grandpa is attempting to do the Hula Dance!)

Anniston loves to go out to eat we decided...We went out three or four times and she was so good and slept through the whole thing all 4 times. She really is a good baby. These two pictures are taken at Duke's Bar and Grill, it was a nice restaurant right on the beach in Waikiki.
Stacey, Anniston, and I all had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa. It was sad to see them go, we are grateful for all their help the first few weeks of having Anniston!

Laie Overlook Gazebo

Here are some pictures at the Gazebo above the temple that overlooks Laie.

Stacey's May Day Dance!

Look at that pregnant woman go!

In Hawaii the elementary schools celebrate something called May Day. Each grade does dances from a different culture. The teachers danced too, but not for any particular culture.
